In His Own Time
An enthusiastic and
passionate young man met me a few days ago. He was in tears, and was
confessing his inability to get along with life because of many constraints.
He wanted to be a valiant worker for Christ Jesus, accomplishing every
venture that he undertakes in life. But he was disappointed by antagonistic
situations and insufficiency. It seems that he wanted to get everything done
in his own time.
Hallo! I am M K Babu. I have a message for you from
God.
Bible says: "Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God,
that He may exalt you in due time". (1Pet. 5:6). Every person who puts
his effort sincerely wants to see good results. Usually we set a target and
press on in order to attain it. Our yearning to attain the target within our
set time often leads us to discontentment.
God has a set time for every little thing that He plans. A person who
accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior doesn't have to be anxious about
his/ her life and future. It is secured in God's hand. For God says:
"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD,
thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope". (Jeremiah
29:11).
Here God says that He has thoughts about us which are clear plans. Prior to
creation God had a clear picture about the thing that He was planning to
create. He had plans how it should look like and what its purpose has to
be.
When we allow Jesus Christ to dwell in us, we become the private property of
God. "For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body
and in your spirit, which are God's". (1 Corinthians. 6:19). His ownership
on us is not just because we believe in Him. It is something much greater. He
paid a price for our redemption by the most priceless thing - the blood of the
Lamb of God. The blood of Jesus Christ that was given as a ransom for the
redemption of our souls is the most precious and invaluable thing in the
world.
For the value of a soul is greater than the earth and everything in it.
And the blood of Jesus is worth enough to purchase all souls in this world.
How precious is the blood of the Lamb of God! There is no substitute for
this.
Many a time people ask God, why God why, why it is so delayed, where are you
O God? Why my prayer is not being answered? Why are you not intervening God?
Yes! We serve a God who can see, hear, speak and work. And He is omniscience.
People who look unto God and desperate for His blessings often ask these
kinds of questions. In fact, God is not making any delay in bestowing His
blessings upon us; on the contrary we are not consistently growing up to the
stature to receive it. God's blessings are not supposed to go in vain,
rather it endures for generations. That is God's intention.
Therefore, He takes His own time to pour out His blessings on us and taking
us to the target where he intended to. God could have created the earth and everything
in it in a few seconds. But He took His good six days in order to finish the
creation work.
Abraham waited for twenty five years in order to see the promise fulfilled in
his life. It took thirteen years for Joseph to see his dream come to pass.
Moses sat in the presence of God for forty days to receive the Ten
Commandments from God. David spent a pretty good number of years in battle
between his anointing and the throne. Jesus Christ spent more than thirty three
years on earth before bringing salvation of God to mankind. God gave His only
begotten Son when He planned to save the mankind. In all these cases God could
have performed it in a few seconds. But we see,
it took long, long time for accomplishment. Had God done it in a couple of
seconds it would have been a cheap grace.
God's work is perfect. His timing is right and His thoughts are thoughts of
peace. We have peace in God's plan even though it takes a long time. Haste
will make us waste. Let us be under His will and wait upon the Lord till He
comes with the answer.
